Buckingham Gaol 14th
November 2009 |
I always enjoy visiting
this location, its atmospheric interior of the
inner courtyard and the rows of cells lends to a
feeling of unease. |
Location Spirit/Ghost |
Bottom room
There were the residual energies of three young
children |
in this room
who I perceived to the bottom right hand |
corner of
the room. The tallest of these children was |
around 12
years of age and attired consummate with the |
Victorian
period. She had long brown hair, rounded |
facial
features and brown eyes, the other two energies |
were also
girls of around 5 to 7 years of age. The names |
of Elizabeth
and Emily were perceived with this room. |
Towards the
area of the doorway was the residual energy |
nearby to
one of the male members of the group. He |
reported
feeling a little unsteady on his feet, which I |
discussed
with him as to whether it was uneven or not. |
He also
remarked at feeling a little dizzy. A possible |
reason for
this was the residual energy of a man who |
I perceived
in the same area. The man had a ruddish |
complexion,
grey hair and a rough look to his attire. |
One of the
female members of the group standing in |
the same
area remarked at feeling quite dizzy and a |
little sick,
this was soon resolved and as we left the |
area, her
feelings quickly subsided. |
Corridor We moved into the
area of the stone stairway and |
long
corridor. I asked for a volunteer to stand on
the |
fourth step
from the landing area. The reason being the |
residual
energy of a policeman/prison guard. His uniform |
was dark in
colour and high on the colour with silver |
buttons and
his hat was more box shaped with a thin rim. |
His hair was
light brown in colour and very wiry. Our |
volunteer
reported feeling quite hot where they were
stood. |
I was also
hearing the sounds of a mob outside, a lot of |
noise, this
factor was confirmed by the historian. |
A second
volunteer came to stand in the same energy in
order to
experience something. This person also remarked |
at feeling
very hot. We asked this person to move away from |
the area and
then back to where they had originally stood. |
Their
feelings of hotness were gone when they moved
away |
and returned
when they themselves came back to the area of |
the ghost. |
First
cell I informed the group of
the uneven floor surface in this room |
so as to
remove any feelings of unsteadiness. I was
initially |
aware of
several people attired in grey coloured uniforms |
sitting on
the floor to the middle of the room. |
One of the
group got my attention and remarked at feeling
very |
sick and
dizzy. This can happen when in a situation
whereby |
you are
allowing yourself to explore your feelings and |
sensitivities, the situation was quickly sorted
and the person |
was fine. |
We where
then joined by the spirit energy of a man come
into |
the room and
was attired in a soldiers uniform consummate |
with the
George the third period. His tunic was black in
colour |
as what his
hat, and wore grey coloured trousers. There were
a |
couple of
noises heard which we attributed to the
floorboards |
and the fact
that the door had not been properly shut behind
us. |
The name of
William Morris was given to me and he was |
remarking
about one of the female members of the group to |
the fact
that her right hand bra strap was moving, one of
the |
group
members confirmed this fact and William Morris
provided a
little more information about her. This is done
by |
way of
helping to ascertain the presence of the spirit
person, |
in this case
William Morris. He was not able to affect noises |
onto any
surfaces due in part to the lack of energy. |
Unknown to
me one of the group had texted her boss to ask
if |
they could
look up the name William Morris. This person
then |
showed me
the text message by way of reply and stated that |
William
Morris was a prisoner of the Gaol in 1725 and
held |
for mass
murder. In hindsight whilst typing up the
report it |
may be that
I saw the residual energy of a soldier and was |
communicating with
William Morris. The number 74836 was |
also
perceived and may have been a prison number. |
Second cell
There was the residual energy of a man in this
room with us, |
his hair was
white in colour, long sideburns, and small metal |
rimmed
glasses, and a wide rimmed hat, and wore a heavy |
outer coat.
I did not see him as a prisoner, more so by way
of walking
the gaol to see the state of the prison and
prisoners. |
At this
point one of the group members suddenly started
at |
having being
touched around the hip area. |
There was
also the visage of several people pushed in |
together and
looked very cramped. I perceived them to have |
all been
women in this area. |
There was
the spirit energy of a man from the 1940’s
period |
and attired in a dark
coloured uniform and carried a haversack |
on his right
hip. I thought this to have been associated with |
the men who
ensured that lights were put off during blackout |
periods. A
couple of the group stood in the vicinity of
this |
energy
reported feeling dizzy and sick. There was also
a |
flash of
light which was seen by all in the cell. This is
becoming a
more common occurrence and though bright |
was not
caused by a torch. It was more in line with the |
light level
of a mobile phone, though in fairness it was |
very
pinpointed to the back and top of the room
itself. |
Yard We came to the
exercise yard, I was aware of the residual |
energy of a
man who was attired in a dark blue uniform |
with a red
stripe down the leg, and wore a fez like hat.
His |
face was
fairly chubby and had dark brown hair and beard. |
At this
point a couple of people reported hearing the
voice of |
a woman from
the direction of the toilets/shop area. I went
to |
investigate
and was met by a relative of one of the members |
of the
group. I relayed the message to the group member |
with the
information being accepted as correct. |
End
cell We did not come into
this area on the walkabout due to its |
smaller
size. As a smaller group however we came into
the |
cell to
conduct a vigil during the evening. We were not
long |
in the cell
before there was quite a loud noise, and we put
it |
down to the
fact that the door of the cell was not quite
closed, |
essentially
there is an inner and outer door, the inner one
was |
not quite
closed, so it could be attributed to this. |
One of the
group remarked that their torch had been moved |
whilst
hanging at her hip, and a second person remarked
at |
feeling
quite sick. |
There was
the spirit energy of a policeman/prison guard |
wearing a
long dark coat, and reminded me a little of the |
early
peelers. He had dark hair, was clean shaven and
of a |
tall thin
build. He told me that he was a policeman, and
then |
one of the
group remarked that the prison had at one time |
been used as
a police station at the time consummate with |
the time
period of the peelers. The spirit of the man
told me |
his surname
of Pritchard. |
Whilst
playing back the recording in order to type this
report |
there is a
distinctive knocking sound as if on a padded
door |
and can be
heard quite loudly and occurred 11 minutes into |
the vigil
itself. There was also a loud banging noise
which we |
associated
with the other vigil group being conducted in
the |
bottom room,
yet upon asking if they had banged any doors |
and
providing a time for this, they reported that no
one had |
banged
anything, though they had reported hearing a
noise |
and
associated it with us. |
I would like to thank the
lovely group of people for their open minded and
positive attitude throughout the event and to my
fellow colleague Libby. If anyone wishes to add
their own personal experiences of the event for
inclusion in this report, please email me. |
